Robin Howard is the Associate Director of the Center for Museums and Historical Preservation at Morgan State University. The Center is the community component of the Office of Museums, which includes the James E. Lewis Museum of Art (JELMA) and the Lillie Carroll Jackson Civil Rights Museum. Howard develops and manages the public interest programming for each facility. This work includes partnerships between JELMA and campus wide departments delivered via workshops and seminars with the Graduate Program in Museum Studies, the School of Architecture, Baltimore City and County Public Schools and various community-based organizations. Howard is instrumental in conducting secondary research on historic and cultural arts programming needs, and works closely with the curatorial staff creatively integrating educational approaches, while infusing the Museum’s mission for program and curriculum development as well as exhibition catalog and project publications.

Since 1989, Howard’s professional experience has been in higher education, which includes previous work at Coppin State University’s Office of Admissions and Department of Athletics.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from the University of Maryland and her Masters of Science in Adult and Continuing Education from Coppin State College.
