Shaqueta Alston is the Registrar for the Office of Museums at Morgan State University. The components of the Office of Museums, includes the James E. Lewis Museum of Art (JELMA) and the Lillie Carroll Jackson Civil Rights Museum. Alston develops and manages the JELMA Digitization project, awarded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
Holding a M.A. in Organization Communications with a focus of Fine Arts Administration, Shaqueta Alston has firmly planted her feet in the world of fine arts logistics. Ms. Alston has been responsible for managing high-level museum projects for The National Gallery of Art, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Art Institute of Chicago, amongst other museums, galleries and private collectors within the Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and New York markets.
